  some extracts in English of a french itv  ( LO 2014/04 ) :   Gone with the wind Since more than 40 years, Garlo is livin in Bordeaux. Since his teenage years, his friends called him Garlo. This interview comes after the release of the cd Go to Tuva he made with the singer from Tuva, Sainkho Namtchylak  (2013 / 11) & before Vent de Guitares 2014 to be released on the 15th of June 2014. Garlo is not a solitary person but he often works alone. Garlo was born in Wendake reserve in Quebec ( his father was working leather w Max Gros Louis family ). The paradox is that it s a picture that we best know from Garlo…  the picture of 54 guitars on the Dune du Pyla, were played by the wind with open tuning chords : Vent de Guitares. All the tapes  of guitars played by the wind,  that can turn you mad, are used by Garlo on many of his albums as synths pads & drones. Garlo has not always played with the wind, but in 1999 he was invited for a creation in Japan called « Kaze » ( wind).   Earth Music Another important musical step was his meeting with Navajos & Sioux musicians. He came back in 1999 from Navajo country w sounds & songs. Two healing singers are the backbone of his album « Earth Link » . Rightfully he refutes the marketing  label of World music … let’s speak of Earth Music. We are all different ( musicians from all around the world he works with) , we don’t make the same music, but we make it with the same spirit, so we can  mix our sounds. On the same album there is the song People where 200 people sing difference & humanity, a Participative creation.   He is ecologist but an irritated one & he likes to sing his angry words. His lyrics may looks naive, but they are direct  « they don’t want you to think, they don’t want you to imagine, they don’t want you to be happy, they just want you to buy ».   New wind On the 15th of June Garlo will go back in the wind. On each of the 14 tracks of the album « Vent de Guitares 2014 » there will be a line IPBTW ( Instruments played by the wind ). The sound & music played by the wind are used as synths parts. The new idea is that  rythms & songs are associated to the instrument played by the wind and people all around the world can participate via the web site http://ventdeguitares.com/fr/Home.html And after the 15th of June , music of th album ( and more ) will be on the web site with 2 faders, so people will be able to listen to their own mix or just to the song alone or just to the instruments played by the wind. Vent de Guitares 2014  is an album but also a participative work in progress.. Title « On the Dune » is a good resume of his work : « In the wind, the vibration ; in the vibration , the sound ; in the sound, the music ; in the music, the emotion ;  in the emotion ,  the infinity … »
